Coolin Hossegor

Known for: Prime location, late nights, great crowd

Sitting practically smack bang in front of La Graviere, the Coolin is a cornerstone of Hossegor nightlife. It’s essentially a gastropub with a pretty bloody decent bistro that caters to all diets and boasts both indoor and outdoor seating. But the Coolin really comes into its own after dark.

There’s live music or a DJ playing plus a fantastic selection of craft beers and cocktails to throw back. You’ll probably find yourself here at least once during your stay at Southwest Surf House… but don’t be surprised if you come back multiple times.

Surfing Kitchen & Beach Bar (Le Surfing)

The ultimate post (or pre) surf bar in Hossegor. Le Surfing is a local hangout, a tourist hotspot and our favourite place to be when it comes to good food, fun times and nightlife in Hossegor. Located about 100 metres back from Plage Des Estagnots, it’s got an epic vibe that’ll really make you feel like you’re on holiday.

Enjoy brunch, smoothies, coffee, dinner and fresh cocktails plus some pretty crunchy tunes. We love coming here to relax after a big day in the ocean, but it’s pretty much always an option. If you’re looking for a go-to bar, café and restaurant in Hossegor, Surfing Kitchen Bar is it.

L'lle de Malt

Beers, beers and more beers – L'lle de Malt (Island of Malt) is a highly praised hub for the best French and Belgian beers available right now. With an excellent selection of beverages that’s supported by a relaxed local vibe.

When the beer is flowing and the conversation is good, you’ll be happy that you found your way into L'lle de Malt. For those who want to sample some seriously interesting bevvies, this is the place to come. Drink the arvo away with your friends or have beers delivered to your home or to any of the beaches in the area. What more could you ask for?

Monsieur Mouette

 Looking for a spot that has killer sunsets but without the busyness of the main promenade? Monsieur Mouette is the place to go. Perched on the edge of the Capbreton marina, it’s one of the best places to spend your evenings when it comes to nightlife in Hossegor.

 With excellent food, cheap drinks and vibey live music, it ticks all three boxes for a good time. Grab a bevvy and stare out over the harbour, then take a moment to appreciate that quintessential holiday feeling. Monsieur Mouette is a fantastic bar with an equally as fantastic ambience. And we reckon anyone who comes here will agree.

Juniper

Known for: Massive cocktail menu, relaxed atmosphere, finger food

Opening hours: 7pm – 2am/Tuesday to Sunday (closed Monday)

A cool and inviting cocktail bar that’s got a formidable selection of drinks. Made right in front of your eyes, this is where you come to find your new favourite bevvy. But of course the food is bloody top notch too. It wouldn’t be such a popular bar in Hossegor if it wasn’t!

Everything is of the highest quality and the attention to detail is superb. Juniper isn’t somewhere you come to get plastered, but rather it’s a place that demands you slow down, take a sip and savour the surroundings. Rock Food

An absolute icon for nightlife in Hossegor, Rock Food is ground zero for good times. Think wild parties that rage long into the night and an unpretentious vibe that makes everyone feel welcome.

It’s also a hotspot for surf culture, with the current owner playing a big role in the local surf scene. When it comes to crazy bars in Hossegor, Rock Food has no equal. Enjoy the view of the beach and sample the burgers, tasting plates, seafood dishes and moule frites (mussels and fries). Rock Food is for after dark shenanigans and no-frills fun.

Café de Paris

There’s a big chance that you’ll drink a coffee, beer or wine at Café de Paris at least once while you’re staying at Southwest Surf House. Perched on the corner of Hossegor’s busiest intersection, this historic bar has been around since 1936. 

Sit under the covered terrace on a sunny day and watch the world go by. The Café de Paris is a people watcher’s paradise with a respectable menu and decent service that’s made all the better by the fact that it’s practically surrounded on all sides by dangerously good boulangeries (bakeries).

Discothèque le Bakoua

The main nightclub in Hossegor. Bakoua might not be the biggest joint in town but it sure is one of the most fun places to hang if you’re in the mood to dance. With a DJ that plays a mix of commercial and lesser-known hits plus cheap drinks and friendly service, it’s good all the essentials for a memorable night out with friends.

Come here if you’re looking to cut loose while staying with Southwest Surf House. For sure you can bust out a few moves on the dancefloor and shake out any sore spots that you might have accumulated after a big day of surfing.

Rosny's Bar

Address: 2 Quai Bonamour, 40130 Capbreton, France

Known for: Locally brewed beer, free billiards, live sports

Opening hours: 6pm – 7pm/7 days a week

With a central location that’s smack bang on the Capbreton port, the Rosny craft brewery is one of the more laidback destinations for nightlife in Hossegor.

Established back in 2015, their beers are made on site using time-honoured brewing traditions and the very best ingredients. The result is a range of beverages that’s original, full of character and absolutely delicious.

Don’t just take our word for it though. If you’re after a bar in Hossegor that sells top-notch beers but also has an epic little ambience, Rosny is worth a look. It’s even got live sports and free billiards if you want to swap the board for a cue.

BooBoo'zzz

If you’re after an alternative hangout spot that’s got some serious charm, you can’t go past BooBoo'zzz. With a bar and sitting area that looks like it’s been built with colourful planks of driftwood, it definitely nails that off-kilter cool look.

 Check out their extensive cocktail menu and enjoy the live music. There’s pretty much always something epic happening here. From themed parties to guest DJ sets and more. BooBoo'zzz might not be the first place that people think of when it comes to nightlife in Hossegor, but that doesn’t mean it can’t deliver the goods.
