  • Rooms will be ready for check-in from 2pm. If you arrive earlier, that’s absolutely fine. You’re welcome to drop off your bags, relax in a hammock, or head down to the beach while the rooms are being prepared.

Check-out is at 10am. If you need to wait later for transport, you’re very welcome to hang out at the house, but we kindly ask that rooms are vacated by 10am.

What if I want to surf on my arrival or departure day?

We’ll always do our best to make this possible. If the surf guide is unavailable due to changeover duties, we’ll have the truck at the beach with surfboards and wetsuits ready so you can go for a surf in your own time.

  • Do I need to book the yoga?

The yoga schedule will be released each evening for the following day. It will be written on the whiteboard in the living room, and anyone who would like to join can simply add their name.

Most classes are held in the morning before breakfast, or in afternoon around 4-5pm. The timing may change depending on the surf conditions and what works best for everyone that week.

Do you have mats, blocks, and straps?

Yes, we have all the equipment you need, including mats, blocks, and straps. These are provided for each class.

Yoga classes are €15 per session.

What type of yoga is it?

This can vary depending on the guests and what people feel like focusing on that week. Our instructor will usually check in with the group to see if anyone would like to work on something specific.

In general, it might look like an energising vinyasa flow in the morning, and/or a slower, more restorative session in the evening to help recover those tired paddling muscles.

  • Do you cater for food intolerances?

Yes, we do. Our chefs are more than happy to adapt meals for any food intolerances. Please mention this when completing your Guest Check In after the booking is made. Once you arrive, our chef will have a quick chat with you to make sure everything is clear and understood.

    Is it mainly vegetarian?

In general, most of the food we create is plant based, so it suits vegetarians and vegans very well. That said, we do not want to exclude anyone and are happy to cook meat as well. Our chefs, who will be living with you during the week, will get a feel for what everyone enjoys and adapt the menu accordingly.

    What about lunch?

It did not make much sense to include lunch in the package as most people are usually out and about or at the beach surfing. Sometimes we organise a group lunch at a restaurant, otherwise guests are free to do their own thing. There are lots of great cafes, bakeries, and restaurants in the area that we are always happy to recommend. There is also a supermarket at the end of the street for those on a budget.

What oils do you cook with?

We keep it simple and clean. All our cooking is done with organic extra virgin olive oil or organic coconut oil, depending on the dish.

    Do you use refined sugar?

No. We avoid refined sugar in our kitchen. Instead, we use natural alternatives like honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar, always organic and always in moderation.

    How organic is everything?

We do not cut corners. Our goal is to use the healthiest and most natural ingredients we can find. While the local farm we work with is not officially certified organic yet, we have spent enough time in the fields to know the produce is grown with care, without chemicals, and just as nature intended. It is about as good as fruit and vegetables get.

  • The summer months July/August are known for fun and friendly fun waves that are perfect for all levels of surfers. For the most part of the time the beaches straight out of the front of the surf house will offer the best waves for beginners all the way to advanced surfers.

June and September still provide excellent waves for beginners/intermediate surfers but there is also more of a chance of a bigger swell arriving. This being the case we will usually take all our intermediate/beginner surfers further south to more protected surf spots such as La Sud, and Santocha. There is generally always a spot for everyone to surf even in bigger swells.

  • Each day at the surf house we will create a solid schedule for the days surfing/ fun things we will be doing for that day. Everyone will then be aware of when and where most of us will be during the day. Theres never any pressure to join in on anything so if you want to do your own thing thats more than fine. Although we always recommend joining in :)

  • If you are not sure if you need lessons the best thing to do is to Request the lessons when completing your booking. This does not reserve the surf lesson, it simply triggers an email response from us to gather the necessary information from you to pass onto the local surf school. There we can further discuss if a lesson would be good for your or anyone in your group.

Note; Surf GUIDING is already included in the price. This is for Surf LESSONS.

Surf GUIDING is our experienced surf guides selecting the best time and place to surf for each session. They are then available to give valuable instructions such as the best place to wait for waves, if there are any currents/hazards, what board you should be on etc. Most of the time the Surf Guides will be in the water with you sharing waves and giving feedback.

  • A towel and sunscreen are probably the two main essentials. If you forget either, don’t worry, we usually have a few spares around.

A reusable water bottle is also a good idea to stay hydrated during the day.

You may also want to bring your usual personal toiletries such as toothpaste, although we provide organic shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soaps in all bathrooms.

  • Absolutely. During the school holidays in particular we get a-lot of families with kids staying at the surf house. It provides a fun atmosphere that brings out the inner kid in everyone.

  • At the surf house we only use foam surfboards. Over the years we have found it to be the best for improving/fun/and safety. Foamies have come a long way over the years and if you havent had a shot on one lately we strongly you recommend you give ours a try.

If you wish to bring your own, no worries. If you would like to hire something, we recommend Marty Surf Delivery. They will even drop it off at the house and have it ready for you when you get here.

    • Pick from the available dates

    • Assign guests to rooms

If you’d like to stay for a longer period, just email us at info@swsurfhouse.com and we’ll sort it.

    A quick note on rooms

    Double Rooms

The price changes depending on whether one or two guests stay. If one person books a double room for themselves, a sole occupancy surcharge applies.

    Shared Rooms

If you’re booking as a group and want to share a room but availability looks tight, leave us a note at checkout. We’ll always do our best to accommodate everyone comfortably.

If your preferred dates aren’t available, feel free to email us. Occasionally beds are pending payment and may reopen.

STEP 2 – Surf Lessons (Optional Request)

Select this option if you or someone in your group would like to request surf lessons.

    Important:

This is only a request, not a confirmed booking.

After your stay is confirmed, we’ll email you with full details. You can then decide whether to reserve lessons. Payment is made directly to the surf school.

Surf Lessons start from €40 for a 90-minute session and are run by an excellent local school.

    What’s Included

Surf Guiding is already included in your stay.

    Our surf guides:

    • Select the best time and spot to surf

    • Advise on conditions and safety

    • Help you choose the right board

    • Join you in the water

If you’ve never surfed before or need a refresher on paddling and standing up, we recommend booking at least one lesson.

    STEP 3 – Transfers (Optional)

Select this option if you require a transfer.

    How Pricing Works

Transfers are charged per van load (up to 8 guests), not per person.

    Example:

    1–8 guests from Biarritz → €60

    9 guests → €120 (2 vans)

We offer this service for convenience, not profit. The pricing structure works especially well for small groups.

If you’re travelling solo and another guest books the same transfer, we’ll split the cost and refund the difference.

    Bordeaux Airport

We do not offer transfers from Bordeaux Airport.

    We recommend:

    • Shuttle to Bordeaux Train Station

    • Train to Saint Vincent de Tyrosse

    • Transfer from Tyrosse → €25 per van load

If your plans change or you’re arriving last minute, just contact us. We’re flexible.

    STEP 4 – Guest Information

Enter the names of each arriving guest.

If you’re booking for a large group and don’t have all details yet, you can skip this step. We’ll follow up before arrival.

    STEP 5 – Booking Summary

    Review your booking details.

    Note:

    • Transfers are charged once per van load (max 8 people).

    • Surf lessons are not charged here. They are paid directly to the surf school.

    STEP 6 – Checkout

    Enter the booker’s details.

Returning guests can use a 10% discount code — it’s the WiFi password 😉

If you don’t remember it, just email us at info@swsurfhouse.com.
