I'd give 10 stars if I could. I visited Southwest Surfhouse in August 2025 and had the absolute best time with the most amazing people. The staff was incredible, the food was amazing, and the vibe was perfect. Raff has done an amazing job of curating a very special experience that I don't think could be replicated anywhere. If you are looking for a great surf experience with truly amazing people, book now. The house is super clean and very welcoming, it feels like coming home rather than staying at a hostel. The breakfasts and dinners were incredible (Thank you to the amazing Chefs!). Finally, thank you so much to the guests who made my stay incredible, I had such a great time from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed, every single day!

The most special week! I can’t recommend Southwest enough for the welcoming hospitality, the incredible food with alfresco dining, and the amazing vibe that was full of good energy. We had the most incredible experience staying at this surf house in Hossegor. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house itself is amazing, so spacious, and full of character. It felt like a home away from home, but even better. The whole team was so warm, helpful, and accommodating. Raff has created something really special here, the vibe is unmatched. A hugeeeee shoutout to Grace for the amazing food!! Every meal was beyond delicious and so fresh and nourishing, I’ve been dreaming about the food since I left. She truly went above and beyond! The place was spotless, friendly, and full of good energy. We honestly couldn’t recommend it more and we already can’t wait to come back.

Second time coming back to the surfhouse and always a heartwarming experience that makes me want to come back every year! :) Raff and his lovely team make sure that everything is well taken care off! The food that is served is just outstanding (breakfast + dinner), giving you energy to go surfing. The house itself also has an available training area, yoga matts and surfskates to use. Would warmly recommend staying here if you plan on coming to this area! :)

Within walking distance of the beach, Southwest Surf House provides everything you might need: surfboards, wetsuits, skateboards, bikes, yoga classes. One point in which this place truly shines is the food. Both dinners and breakfasts are absolutely amazing: mostly vegetarian and always tasty, the meals provide everything you could possibly need for a full day of surf. The chefs are true rock stars. Lastly, the house attracts amazing people. You’ll meet a very diverse and international crowd of inspiring, welcoming, and friendly people. This community makes Southwest Surfhouse a unique and special place.

This Surfhouse deserves 6 Stars. And that‘s not only because it provides you with everything you need, but also (or even mostly) because of the people that run this place. Whether you are looking for a nice surf session, relaxing yoga classes, a good workout, challenging chess matches (especially against Marnix and Raff), some time to relax in a hammock for a good read or a night out, you will most definitely find like-minded people and enjoy your time. And trust the food pictures on their website, you will be amazed by the food Flora and Grace prepare for you. Super delicious, healthy and nutritious! Stayed for two weeks, met awesome people, had some nice surf and looking forward to the next time!

One of the best places I've visited in Aquitaine, France. Me and a friend of mine went there together and met so many nice people from all around the world - all sharing a similar mindset and enjoying the surfing lifestyle. No matter if you're alone or a group of friends, Southwest surfhouse has everything to ensure an amazing stay. Boards, bikes etc are at your disposal and the crew will make sure that you find the right waves for your individual level. Highlights were definitely the trips with the entire group, the amazing food every day and the relaxing time at the house. As you can imagine, I can only recommend this place to anyone who's looking to have a great time right next to the beautiful Atlantic ocean.

I spent one week at the "southwest surfhouse" and I can honestly say, I‘ve never experienced something like this before. You are staying in a surfhouse at the westcoast of France but you feel like living in a surfcamp somewhere in California. Besides surfing, the crew will take you bridge jumping, to shop some new garms, playing soccer (if you dare) or to a close bar to dance and some casual "after surf sess‘ drinks" ;) I would recommend the surfhouse to anyone I know. An experience that I will keep in very good memory. Hopefully I‘ll be able to return sometime.

This is Surf House done right. I came from the US during a summer-long surf trip in Nica/Costa Rica/France, and of the ~30+ BNB's / surf hostels I stayed at, this was by far the best one. All I was looking for was a roof and a surfboard, but this place was so much more. The people make all the difference - the house is staffed by a killer crew who provide great surfing guidance, seriously mouth-watering food, and unending laughs. On top of all that, Hossegor is the perfect summer destination - the place is pure magic. I made some lifelong friends, and will certainly be back at SWSH (but mostly for the food...).

I have been to the Surf House twice now and would go back in a heartbeat! The location is amazing, the beaches are breathtaking, the food is mouth watering but above all the team are awesome! Raff, Fraser, Jack & G are the most wonderful hosts. We surfed, cycled, got our yoga on, chilled on the beach, snoozed in the hammocks, played games, laughed, ate like kings and made great friends and memories - it really is a magical experience and one like no other...if you are thinking of making a trip, do it - you’ll remember it forever! :)

I stayed at Southwest Surfhouse for a week last September and have been dreaming of returning ever since.. as soon as I arrived I felt like I was home. The guys at the house are so welcoming and an absolute treat to spend time with, they make the gorgeous weather and beaches secondary in the reasons I'd return! I met such a cool variety of people during my stay, from the locals that the guys have befriended, to other surfhouse guests, it really is open to all! So whether you're after delicious food, great surf or just hanging on a sunny beach playing chess with some new mates, I can't recommend this place highly enough - I'll be booking my next trip soon, see ya there!

Southwest is all about chilling out with like minded people, surfing, riding bikes along the beach, ice creams in Hoss and great food. Traveling alone, I was looking for a place to stay and a surfboard to rent. This place is the antidote to all that is stressful; a truly magical spot where all sense of time fades away in a melting pot of laughter, music, conversation and shared experience. Raff runs the show with a calm demeanour while Fraser tip toes from guest to guest ensuring that everyone is having a great time on their own level; either he’s helping you either read the surf or to fling yourself backwards off a bridge. G is nothing short of a sorceress in the kitchen; I have never even imagined that vegetables could be elevated to the level dished out as standard at the Surf House. Her food is healthy, plentiful and served with a generous helping of great chat. An amazing time was had here!

Southwest Surfhouse is a truely magical place. From the moment you arrive you start to unwind and relax. My partner and I spent 6 nights here and wished we stayed forever. From car park salsa lessons to sunset surfs, daily ice cream stops to the most unbelievable home cooked meals you will ever eat- this place has it all sorted! These legends instantly make you feel at home and your mind starts to plot how exactly you can quit your job and never leave. We had one of the best weeks of our lives.
